Canary Technologies To Match up to $100k in Digital Tips During International Housekeepers Week 2022

September 14, 2022

San Francisco, Calif. – Sept. 6, 2022 – Canary Technologies, which is modernizing the hotel tech stack with the first mobile web end-to-end Guest Management System and its award-winning Digital Authorizations solution, announced today that it will match up to $100k in digital tips for housekeepers at all properties that have implemented its Digital Tipping solution during International Housekeepers Week, which takes place from Sept. 11 through Sept. 17, 2022.

Celebrated across the lodging industry, the first International Housekeepers Week was organized in 1981 by the Indoor Environmental Healthcare and Hospitality Association (IEHA). The annual event is dedicated to recognizing the important contributions of custodial staff members and is a prime opportunity for hotel operators to show their appreciation to hard-working employees.

“Housekeepers and other frontline hotel employees are the backbone of the hospitality industry. With significant labor shortages, inflation continuing to rise, and people carrying less cash than ever, housekeepers and other frontline employees are being asked to do more with less. We hope this initiative spurs hoteliers to think about new and useful ways to improve employee attraction and retention,” said Canary Director of Strategic Initiatives, Bryan Michalis. “We’re extremely pleased to be in a position to help hoteliers show their appreciation to staff members this International Housekeeping Week and draw attention to innovative solutions that address current industry-wide challenges.”

“Digital Tipping is designed for flexible deployment and can be integrated seamlessly with Canary’s Guest Management System or implemented as a standalone solution,” said Canary Co-founder SJ Sawhney. Digital Tipping enables guests to provide tips to hotel employees (as individuals or whole departments) at any time during the guest journey from check-in to checkout from their mobile devices. Hotel guests can also offer tips to staff by quickly scanning QR codes strategically distributed around a property.

In addition to Digital Tipping, Canary offers an array of products that cater to the specific needs of the hotel industry, including Contactless Check-in, Contactless Checkout, Guest Messaging, Digital Upsells, Digital Authorizations and Digital Contracts. These industry-leading solutions are helping forward-looking hotels improve their business processes and bottom lines, while enhancing the in-stay experience for their valued guests.
